Town Manager Jessica Cyr presented a draft Complaint Policy intended for publication on the town website during the July 7 Select Board work session.
Select Board member Kathy-Jean Lavoie requested the policy include a formal acknowledgement to complainants within 48 hours. Leon Rideout noted that some departments already follow standard operating procedures, such as the police department, and said the proposed policy would serve as an additional townwide tool to streamline handling of complaints. The board did not adopt the policy at the meeting and requested staff incorporate the 48-hour acknowledgement language and return with a revised draft.
No vote or formal adoption occurred; the item remains under staff revision until the board reviews an updated draft.
