Real estate committee report adopted; city to buy property at 1233 Bamboo Drive for stormwater project

The Committee on Ways and Means on July 14 adopted the report from the committee on real estate, which met on July 13 and recommended several actions.
Chairman Tinkler told the Ways and Means committee that the Real Estate Committee had addressed multiple items, including a proposed purchase of a residential property at 1233 Bamboo Drive for $610,000 to facilitate a long-planned stormwater project in the area. The real estate report also included a lease-extension amendment with Gilliard management group to allow negotiation of a subsequent lease; an intergovernmental agreement with the county and CPW related to Greenway work; and six residential annexations. Chairman Tinkler said all items passed unanimously in the Real Estate Committee.
The Ways and Means committee moved to adopt the Real Estate Committee report, members seconded, and the adoption was approved by acclamation. Departments will proceed with acquisition steps and the intergovernmental arrangements described in the report.
