12-acre parcel near Trundle Bed Road could affect Hodges trail access, commission told

Donna Carter informed the Kensington Conservation Commission on April 14 that a 12-acre parcel off Trundle Bed Road is coming up for sale and that the town park-to-Hodges trail currently crosses that property by permission of the current owner. Carter told members she will provide contact information for the owner so the commission can explore options to protect trail access.
Commission members also noted that a “trail closed” sign at Hodges has been removed. Joan Skewes was tasked with checking with the town to determine whether funds from the old Highland Farm trust have been transferred into the new trust funds that support Hodges conservation land. The commission did not record a formal vote on acquisition or easement options at the meeting.
Pam Holland, a commission member, identified potential next steps that include contacting the landowner and confirming trust-fund status with town officials; the commission listed the parcel and funding status as items for follow-up at future meetings.
