Platte County approves parks grant awards, regional grant applications and annual bid awards; community-center equipment purchase cleared

Parks and Recreation Director Daniel Erickson presented Resolution 2026RES015, recommending awards for 21 of 27 parks-grant applications (exhibit A in meeting materials). Erickson said staff will send contracts to awardees and projects may begin once contracts are signed; commissioners praised the program as an effective way to return tax dollars to local projects.
Erickson also combined items 38 and 39 to award a bid and approve a contract with Keiser Corporation for 25 replacement spin bikes at the Platte City Community Center. Erickson said the equipment is funded from membership-generated fees and not from the county sales tax; the commission approved the awards 3-0. The meeting transcript contains an anomalous dollar figure for the total cost listed in staff remarks; that figure appears inconsistent with the context and will be confirmed in county procurement records.
Public works director Bob Heim presented a request to solicit bids for concrete flatwork around county facilities and summarized the county’s annual bid awards (categories 6–22) that the board approved; Heim said specifications will be available and bid opening dates were provided.
