EDC to meet Cigna CEO; development agency outlines $5,000 branding work for Granby district

Dave (speaker 3) told the commission he, Mayor/Town Manager John and others will meet in August with Cigna's new chief executive, Brian Banco, and that Cigna public-affairs representative Brian Cuddleback will also attend.
"The new CEO is, you know, willing to spend about a half hour with Bloomfield," Dave said, describing the meeting as "a good start" for reestablishing a working relationship with Cigna leadership.
Commissioners asked staff to circulate a short background on Banco; Denise said she would send an HBJ profile and local coverage to Rebecca for distribution to the full commission.
Separately, the development agency reported that the town council recently approved a $5,000 contract for Artifex to create branding concepts and schematic designs for two existing signs in the Granby/Toby Tipp district. Chair described the work as two stages: a branding concept followed by design-review and further council consideration for implementation.
Chair said Artifex owner Lauren Rosen located original drawings for one of the signs and that Artifex has assigned a designer to the project. The commission indicated it would ask Artifex to present to the EDC if the commission requests a formal presentation.
There were no votes on these items at the meeting; staff will circulate profiles and next steps to the commission.
