Temple Recreation Commission OKs $400 for Valentine’s dance, approves CPR classes

The Temple Recreation Commission voted Friday to withdraw $400 from its Revolving Fund to cover potential expenses for an upcoming Valentine’s dance and approved hosting CPR training, the commission’s minutes show.
Chair Vivian Wills called the Feb. 6 meeting to order at 6:37 p.m. and the commission first approved the minutes from its Jan. 22 meeting after a motion by Wills and a second from Ebenezer Edwards.
Commissioners discussed plans for the Valentine’s dance and inquiries about whether the event could allow BYOB alcohol. Dan Cournoyer raised the BYOB question; attendee Ken Caisse said, “Ken will check if Town insurance will cover Town sponsored events with alcohol.” The commission did not make a final determination about alcohol at the meeting.
Later the commission voted to access $400 from the Revolving Fund to cover potential dance expenses. Jen Kiley moved to authorize the withdrawal and Gretchen Whitcomb seconded; the motion passed with all in favor.
The commission also discussed and approved hosting CPR classes. Jen Kiley moved to approve the classes, Gretchen Whitcomb seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
