He estimated the stocking at up to about 500 sterile carp and said the city is paying roughly $17 per fish; DES is cost‑sharing the project approximately 50/50 with the city.
Council members asked about fishing and regulatory impacts; Moore said the city will coordinate timing and regulatory questions with the Department of Natural Resources and will notify the council before treatments begin. "We'll find out," he said when asked about scheduling, and asked staff to circulate details when available.
The council did not vote on this item; staff direction included publishing the master plan and coordinating DES and DNR for lake treatment logistics.
