Dunmore fire chief reports equipment repairs and Lions Club grant for new nozzles

DeNaples said Engine 6 is returning to Sherwood Truck for air‑leak repairs and that the rescue truck required follow-up work found during annual pump testing. He reported that the station generator showed failing sensors and displays and that the repairs could cost between $2,500 and $3,000.
DeNaples said annual hose testing is scheduled for June 22 and will cost about $4,500. He also announced positive news on a Lions Club grant: "That was approved. And we're getting $9,625.88," he said, adding the funds will purchase five new nozzles and a washing machine to launder duty clothing.
For May call volume, DeNaples reported 67 calls: 7 fire calls, 8 hazmat, 13 medical, 11 non‑emergent, 25 public‑service calls and 3 rescues. He thanked the Lions Club and asked staff to send a thank‑you letter.
Council offered thanks and asked staff to follow up on grant administration and repair procurement.
