Weld County Fair royalty and inaugural junior fair board outline events, outreach

Addison Tolez, the 2026 Weld County Fair Queen, and members of the new junior fair board visited the Weld County Board of County Commissioners on July 8 to present the county’s fair book and a calendar of Fair Week events.

Tolez, who introduced herself as the 2026 Weld County Fair Queen, said the fair runs July 18–27 and highlighted competitive schedules: “We kick off the week with the horse show taking place July 20 through July 22,” and she noted the junior livestock sale will take place July 27 at 3:00 p.m. She described the fair as “filled with fun, family, and laughter” and invited residents to attend multiple shows and events.

Mikayla Gable, Weld County Fair coordinator, said the presentations were meant to showcase two youth leadership programs — Fair Royalty and the new junior fair board — that serve as ambassadors for agriculture and help plan special events. Gable told commissioners the programs help develop young leaders and involve youth in event planning and operations.

Members of the inaugural junior fair board outlined community projects planned during fair week, including hands‑on agriculture lessons for elementary students, a food and clothing drive to benefit the Weld County Food Bank and local shelters, and a summer concert scheduled for July 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. Junior fair board member Reagan Ellis said she organized the first county fair concert and described work on outreach and advertising.

Pat Kinball, who identified herself as long‑involved with royalty activities, thanked county leaders for supporting the programs. Multiple commissioners commended the young presenters for leadership and community engagement, and the board took photographs with the royalty and junior fair board.

The presentation served primarily as public outreach and information; no board action or funding request was made during the presentation.
