The City of Livingston reported that on May 3 the back pond at Pedigo Park suffered a dam break, emptying water into Long King Creek. City Manager Ellie Monteaux said the event was likely caused by years of the creek backing into the dam and eroding its structure.
Monteaux told council the city will engage engineers to rebuild the dam, will refill the pond once the structure is repaired, and plans to restock fish. The park area has been roped off and marked for public safety during repair work.
Council was not asked to take immediate action beyond directing staff to proceed with engineering and safety measures; city staff will provide updates as the repair plan and timeline are developed.
