At its May 4 meeting, the Poplar Bluff City Council advanced and adopted four ordinances after first and second readings.
Bill 86-86: Authorizes the mayor to execute a lease agreement for city-owned flood buyout property at 113 Relief Street. The ordinance advanced through readings and was adopted by roll call; the clerk announced six yes votes and Mayor Smith declared the bill adopted.
Bill 86-87: Amends the fiscal-year 2025 budget (transcript text references both 2025 and 2026 in places); the council completed readings and adopted the ordinance by a 6–0 roll-call vote.
Bill 86-88: Amends the fiscal-year 2026 budget and authorizes purchase of a new storm siren for the city. The council approved readings and adopted the ordinance by roll call (6–0).
Bill 86-89: Authorizes the destruction of antiquated records held by the Poplar Bluff Fire Department; the ordinance was adopted by roll call (6–0).
The clerk recorded six affirmative votes for each adoption. The council did not record substantive debate on these items in workshop; each ordinance will be implemented per its terms or as directed by the adopting language.
