Council adopts airport lease, hangar bid, fire-station repairs and farmers market ordinance amendments

During its April 20 meeting the Poplar Bluff City Council approved a series of action items affecting the airport, public-works maintenance and the farmers marketplace.
- Bill 86-82: The council adopted an ordinance authorizing a lease agreement with Drew Murphy for approximately 93 acres of agricultural land at the Poplar Bluff Municipal Airport in Butler County. The measure passed following required readings and a roll-call vote.
- Bill 86-83: Council accepted a bid from RL Persons Construction, Inc. for foundation work associated with construction of a two-bay box hangar, taxiway and approach at the Poplar Bluff Regional Business Airport; the ordinance was adopted after readings and roll-call votes.
- Bill 86-84: The council accepted a bid from Clinton Construction, LLC, and adopted an ordinance to fund repairs to Fire Station No. 3.
- Bill 86-85: Council amended Chapter 605 of the city code relating to Farmers Marketplace permit requirements and use of stalls; after readings and roll-call the ordinance was adopted.
Clerk roll call entries in the transcript recorded affirmative votes; individual council votes were called verbally during each adoption. The council also adopted Resolution 2069 recognizing the Poplar Bluff Police Department 9-1-1 telecommunicators as first responders.
Each bill and the resolution was advanced through the required first and second readings and then adopted; formal implementation steps and contract awards will follow departmental procedures and contract execution.
