The City of Mount Rainier adopted Resolution O2-2026 on March 3, 2026, appointing Derek Reynolds and Jasmine White to serve three-year terms on the Ethics Commission, effective immediately.
"Whereas Derek Reynolds and Jasmine White are residents of the city of Mount Rainier and are qualified and willing to serve on the ethics commission," the mayor read as the resolution was presented. Councilor Danielle moved to appoint the two residents; Councilor Jakuda seconded the motion. The council took the vote with no objections or abstentions and the mayor announced the appointments were approved.
Both appointees came forward to be sworn in. Derek Reynolds repeated the oath supporting the constitution and pledging to "execute the office of Mount Rainier Ethics Commission... to the best of my skills and judgment," then signed the appointment documents.
The resolution sets each term beginning 03/03/2026 and expiring 03/06/2029. The council did not amend the terms and no public comment was offered on the appointments.
