The Poplar Bluff City Council unanimously adopted two ordinances during its meeting: Bill No. 8668, accepting a bid for the DRA project MO7561 (Industrial Park Pavement Improvements), and Bill No. 8669, authorizing destruction of antiquated records for the Black River Coliseum and the Black River Coliseum Aquatics and Fitness Center.
A council member read the ordinance language for Bill No. 8668, naming a construction firm as the successful bidder for the industrial park paving project. On roll call, Councilman Boyer, Councilwoman Horton, Councilman Smith, Councilman Massingham, Councilman DePue, Mayor Pro Tem Parson and Mayor Cornman each recorded a "yes" vote; the mayor announced "We have 7 yes votes." The mayor then stated that Bill No. 8668 had been adopted.
The council then conducted readings and adopted Bill No. 8669, which authorizes the destruction of antiquated records for the Black River Coliseum. The same seven members voted yes on the adoption and the mayor announced that Bill No. 8669 had been adopted.
Both ordinances passed without additional discussion or amendment during this meeting. The council subsequently announced it would hold a closed session after the city manager's report.
