The council read the resolution, a motion was made and seconded to adopt it, and Clerk Lori Phelps recorded seven yes votes. Staff had told the council Midgette applied to fill a vacancy left after the passing of Billy Cobb and was recommended by the housing authority director.
Council members did not request additional debate before the roll call. The appointment will allow the housing authority to seat a new member before its meeting at the end of the month.
