Residents press for ditch cleanup and road repairs; mayor says village will pursue funding

Two residents used the public-comment period March 18 to press the village for roadside cleanup and road repairs.
Lucy Valdez told the council there are "branches piled up on the ditch across from her residence" and asked if something could be done to remove them. Mayor Eloy Brazil said he would inspect the area to see if the village could arrange removal.
LeAnn Smith asked the governing body to fix a strip of road on the east side of the Methodist church where a water-line repair had left pavement removed and asked about paving Grant Avenue. Mayor Brazil said the village intends to apply in this round of NMDOT MAP funding for Grant Avenue and that he would check the location of the water-line repair to determine what can be done.
