The TECCA Commonwealth Virtual School Board accepted the resignation of board member Dr. Joanne Menard effective June 30, 2026 and approved its consent agenda during the April 9 meeting.
Board Chair Peter Sanchioni moved to accept Dr. Menard’s resignation; the roll-call vote recorded yes votes from Dr. Kenney, Grace Magley, Jerry Helsing, Dr. Sandra Einsel, Dr. Menard and Dr. Sanchioni. The Board thanked Dr. Menard for her service.
The Board also moved and approved the consent block unanimously. Consent items approved included the February 2026 Pearson invoice, the March 12, 2026 board meeting minutes, executive session minutes to follow, a revised enrollment policy letter and the Location Transfer Policy for inclusion in the school handbook. Several consent items had been vetted in advance by staff and the board's reviewers.
Why it matters: acceptance of a resignation creates an upcoming vacancy on the Board and the consent approvals put several operational documents and policies on record, including the Location Transfer Policy clarifying residency and out-of-state special-education service requirements.
Next steps: the resignation is effective June 30, 2026; the board will proceed with customary follow-up for filling the vacancy and implementing approved policies.
