The Williston Board of City Commissioners on March 10 awarded the 2026 Underground Wire Replacement Project (areas 1–4) to Denny’s Electric LLC of Dickinson, N.D., for $360,301. Public Works Director Kenny Bergstrom reported five bids were received and staff recommended accepting Denny’s Electric as the lowest responsive bidder for the project covering Pheasant Run Parkway, Westlawn Park, the Wilkinson School adjacent area and West Broadway.
The board also approved two alcoholic beverage licenses. City Administrator Shawn Wenko said Busy Buns LLC applied for a Specialty Recreational Alcoholic Beverage License for 213 11th St W Ste B (former Busted Knuckle Brewery) and True North Crafted LLC applied for a Beer and Wine on-sale license for 213 11th St W Ste A; both applications were reviewed and recommended by the Liquor and Licensing Committee and were approved by the board 4–0 with no public comment.
Commissioners noted ongoing maintenance needs for underground wiring due to frost action and discussed whether poles and conduit from older installations contribute to recurring failures. The board approved the contract and licenses by unanimous votes.
