Williston approves Flex PACE buydowns for seven local businesses

The Williston Board of City Commissioners voted June 24 to approve seven Flex PACE buydown requests recommended by the STAR Fund to help local businesses purchase property, expand operations or build out new space. Anna Nelson, the city's Economic Development Director, presented the package during the board's meeting at City Hall and on GoToMeeting.
The approved applications include buydown requests for Boudes Field Service (purchase of the leased building at 1209 104th St. W.), Deadman N'Graving (purchase at 2308 50th St. W.), Gravity Rental (purchase and relocation to 725 8th Ave. E.), Higher Grounds Coffee (buildout at 502 Main St.), Midtown Ventures (climate-controlled storage at 120 26th St. E.), ThermaCore Manufacturing (buildout and equipment at 812 39th St. E.), and Tripp In Trucking (purchase at 1109 6th St. W.). Requested buydowns range from $9,600 to $168,000; Nelson said the ThermaCore project was deemed primary sector and that the $168,000 request would be split 50/50 with Williams County under the existing agreement because the property lies outside the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction.
Commissioner Victoria Siemieniewski moved to approve the Flex PACE applications; Commissioner Lucas Gjovig seconded. The motion carried on a recorded voice vote of 5-0 (Commissioners Bekkedahl, Siemieniewski, Bervig, Gjovig and Klug voting AYE).
