Commission approves AMR request to add flight-tracking antenna at Pleasanton station

Dawn Brooks of AMR presented the service report and requested county permission to add an ADS‑B flight-tracking antenna at AMR’s Pleasanton station to improve tracking of helicopters that operate at lower altitudes than the state's tracker can detect.
Brooks said AMR recorded 46 calls with 27 transports and an average response time of 13 minutes, 42 seconds for the reporting period. "Blue Mound had 2 calls, LaSine had 16 calls and 11 transports," she reported, giving a breakdown of activity in multiple towns.
Brooks asked for permission for a minimally invasive antenna at the Pleasanton station; the chair said he reviewed an email and had no objection. The chair moved to approve AMR's installation of the ADS‑B site coordination for the alternate flight-tracking system on Linn County property; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Next steps: AMR indicated the meeting minutes would suffice for documentation; commissioners did not require further written authorization at this time.
