Belle Isle staff work with Orange County on Jetport Drive maintenance; resolution draft submitted for review

Belle Isle city staff told the council they are working to resolve a jurisdictional dispute with Orange County over a portion of Jetport Drive and have sent a draft maintenance resolution to the county attorney for review.
City staff described a meeting with county representatives where the city provided a list of questions about maintenance responsibilities and asked for something in writing to replace the prior handshake arrangements. "Dan was gonna write up a one-page simple resolution for maintenance, send it to the county, and then the county will look at it," the city manager said, noting that Dan sent the draft to Orange County Attorney Andrew Mai the same day.
Staff told the council they expect to have an answer or possibly a resolution for the March 17 meeting that would close out the dispute, and emphasized that updating the county's 311 jurisdiction map will be part of the long-term fix. The item was presented purely as an update and staff did not request immediate council action beyond acknowledging the ongoing work.
If the county approves the draft resolution, staff will return to council with the document to formalize which agency is responsible for maintenance of the disputed stretch of road.
