Taos County Commission approves ICIP, detention medical contract, roofing work and personnel reclassifications

The Taos County Commission on June 23 approved a series of resolutions, contracts and personnel actions during its regular meeting.

The commission adopted Resolution 20206, the Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) that staff must submit to the state by July 1. Commissioners then approved contract TCC2026-26 with CoreHealth LLC to provide detainee medical services at the Taos County Detention Center; staff said the contract is approximately $1,401,772.14 (exclusive of gross receipts tax) and that budgeted funds, including a portion from the indigent health fund, will cover the contract.

The commission also approved TCC2026-27 with J3 Systems (Atikta America Company LLC) for a roof overlay at the Department of Health building ($97,988.19, inclusive of gross receipts tax) and a change order to contract TCC2026-8 (R & M Construction) for Taos Plaza phase 3 work ($88,489.61) to add electrical boxes, sprinkler and restoration work. Manager Jaramillo and facilities staff explained the scope and funding sources.

On personnel matters, commissioners approved reclassification of the planning office manager position to deputy planning director — expanding signature authority and supervisory duties — and approved a reclassification for the solid waste collection clerk to raise compensation given front-line cash-handling responsibilities. Commissioners also approved a consent agenda and heard the county manager’s report and department updates before adjourning at 11:29 a.m.

All formal votes recorded on those items carried with commissioners voting affirmative; motions were moved, seconded and the clerk called the votes as reflected in the meeting record.
