Bonduel board approves liquor license sale, picnic permit, per diems and routine business; schedules local projects

At its July 9 meeting, the Bonduel Village Board approved a number of routine items and noted several upcoming local projects.
Clerk/Treasurer Michelle Maroszek reported the reserve Class B liquor license was sold to The Glenn for $10,000 plus the normal fee; the Village now has no remaining Class B licenses. Maroszek said Bonduel Mini Mart has inquired about obtaining a Class B license; the board will discuss that request at the next Committee of the Whole meeting.
The board approved a picnic license for the Bonduel Lions Club Annual Corn Roast at Village Park on Aug. 1, 2025. Trustee Kay Zuleger moved and Trustee Michelle Streetman seconded the motion; background checks and the application were complete.
Trustees also approved second-quarter per diems and the July monthly payments, and accepted the June 2025 Treasurer's report; all motions carried unanimously. Director Jesse Rankin reported that road construction on North Jefferson Street is scheduled to begin the week of July 21 and that the Bear Trail Crossing groundbreaking is set for July 17 at noon. Rankin also said the Broncos will install a scoreboard at Village Park at their expense and the Village will add it to its insurance policy once installed.
The board discussed an appointment to the Redevelopment Authority but by consensus agreed to wait until the next meeting to seek candidates with business experience. The meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
