Town of North East approves budget amendments, multiple requisitions and blanket contracts totaling hundreds of thousands

At its July 24 meeting the North East Town Board approved two budget amendments and a series of requisitions and blanket contracts covering operational costs, insurance, debt service and capital-related contracts.

Budget Amendment 2024-012 (ARPA-funded purchases) and Budget Amendment 2025-001 (Critical Area Grant reduction) were approved by motion. The board then approved 16 requisitions and blanket contracts, including: Republic Services excess fees ($42,753.17); Local Government Insurance Trust health-insurance invoices for July ($51,956.68) and August ($62,796.84); a 10-month health-insurance blanket ($788,500); North East Fire Company donation ($30,000); John Deere Financial gasoline and diesel blanket ($107,100); Republic Services residential trash & recycle blanket ($526,000); Lecco Pipe Line Construction water-line repair blanket ($250,000); Core & Main water supplies ($40,000); Coyne Chemical water chemicals ($240,000); Clifton Larsen Allen LLP FY2025 audit ($38,013); M&T Bank trustee debt-service payments for the general fund ($142,888) and water fund ($701,305); and Local Government Insurance Trust annual liability/property/auto insurance ($87,358).

Motions for these items were moved and seconded by commissioners and recorded in the minutes as "approved by all." The minutes do not provide individual roll-call tallies.
