The Town of Loma Linda Board of Trustees on March 11 reviewed several items related to building standards and town ordinances and scheduled further readings.
Trustees said floodplain-management rules will be updated to reflect administrator changes and will be read at the April meeting. A proposed nepotism ordinance covering board members and subcommittees will also be read in April, and proposed term limits for trustees will be revised for discussion at the May meeting.
Attorney William Peterson attended to provide legal guidance. Peterson told the board that roof-pitch requirements should follow the 2018 International Residential Code as incorporated by the town's Ordinance 18-01, and trustees discussed applying that standard when considering ACC (Architectural Control Committee) responsibilities and permit processing. Chairman James Childers also raised a concern about a realtor seeking initial building permits for south-course properties prior to land purchase; trustees said further discussion is needed to clarify permitting procedures.
MO American Water reported delays installing additional fire hydrants because water mains were shallower than expected; the hydrant work was expected to finish the following week. Bruce Anderson said he will ask RMFD whether the new hydrants could yield homeowner insurance discounts.
