Loma Linda trustees review local projects, approve financial report and pay routine bills; chair records an abstention

At its Feb. 11 meeting the Town of Loma Linda Board of Trustees reviewed multiple local projects, approved the January 2025 financial report and authorized payment of routine monthly bills.
Old Business: Trustees noted that parcels at the south course are not selling and that the course property may be offered in its entirety. Regarding the Haven’s Building at 2837 N. Loma Linda Drive, the minutes state Mr. Havens reported a contract for inspection is in place and the physical inspection is pending. The board also recorded that Missouri American Water has received new fire hydrants and will install them once colder weather subsides. On speed limits, Chair James Childers will reach out to law enforcement for input.
Finance and bills: Jan Woody read the January 2025 financial reports. Bruce Anderson moved to approve the financial report as presented; Barbara Hutchison seconded and the motion was recorded as unanimously approved. The board considered payment of routine monthly bills totaling $43,558.29 from the General Account, $45,320.99 from the Utility Account and $25.73 from the Park Account. The minutes record a motion to pay the bills and state the motion was approved; the minutes also note that James Childers abstained. The minutes do not specify who made or seconded the motion on the bills item.
Ordinances and committees: Chair James Childers presented updated ordinances addressing south course building requirements and trustee term limits. Trustees discussed the need for more committee volunteers and agreed to revisit recruitment and ordinance revisions at the March meeting. The Architecture Committee report emphasized cohesive ordinances and formal committee votes for each request; Chair Childers will review and revise current ordinances.
