Council discussed how to handle trees that sit technically in the public right-of-way but are inside residents' front yards or fenced side/backyards; members agreed to evaluate such properties on a case-by-case basis. The Village Environment Committee will support the village's Tree City USA designation effort and present a formal Arbor Day proposal at the February meeting. Council emphasized resident volunteer support and village-wide events to strengthen community engagement.
