North Chevy Chase council approves minutes, contract award and investment account

The Village of North Chevy Chase Council on March 17 approved meeting minutes for January and February, authorized the award of a landscape services contract and agreed to open an account in the Maryland Local Government Investment Pool (MLGIP) to diversify its short-term investments.
Treasurer Geetika Sripathi reported year-to-date income of $395,798, operating expenses of $298,031 and Village assets of $3,114,915 as of Feb. 28. The Council recorded approval of a fence permit for 8808 Clifford Ave that was fast-tracked on Feb. 24, 2026.
On the recommendation of a bid review committee made up of the Village Manager, the Council Chair and the Treasurer, the Council approved a contract award to Miller Landscapes; the company also holds the Village snow-removal contract. The Council passed a resolution to establish a Maryland Local Government Investment Pool account and directed the Village Manager to coordinate with PNC (the MLGIP administrator) to open the account and transfer funds from Atlantic Union following a recent certificate-of-deposit maturity.
The Council did not record a roll-call vote in the meeting summary for these approvals. A Secretary’s note accompanying the FY27 budget discussion states that budget adjustments consistent with the meeting’s discussion were incorporated into the draft distributed to residents in early April.
