School administrators briefed the Tri-Center Comm School District board on programs and upcoming events during the March 9 meeting, highlighting participation and scheduling for spring athletics and student activities.
Athletic Director Cassie Harris and principals reported participation counts: Girls Track 20, Boys Track 24, Jr. High Track 54, Girls Soccer 22, Boys Soccer 25, Girls Golf 16, Boys Golf 35, Softball 24, Baseball 44. Administrators reminded the board that a spring-sports meeting is scheduled for March 11 and noted the district’s Jazz Band qualified for the Iowa Jazz Band Championships in April.
Student engagement items included elementary parent-teacher conferences (96% attendance), Child Find on March 10 with dental screening from IWCC and vision screening from the Lions Club, a 2nd & 3rd grade concert on March 12, and the high-school musical 'Mama Mia' on March 20 and 22 (with a special elementary presentation on March 20). The minutes also record junior-high choir performances in Underwood and FFA district successes.
These items were recorded under administrative reports; no board action was required. The minutes show positive participation rates and routine scheduling items for the coming weeks.
