Onancock council approves Farmer's Market grant administration and reviews fence options; SUP changes tabled
Summary
On Sept. 9 the Onancock Town Council voted 6-0 to allow town staff to administer a Farmer's Market grant, reviewed options for an oak-tree fence and tabled further changes to Article XV (Special Use Permits) pending revised language.
At its Sept. 9 meeting the Onancock Town Council unanimously approved a motion to allow town staff to administer a grant for the Farmer's Market. Councilmember Paul Weitzel moved the measure and Councilmember Cindy Holdren seconded; the vote was 6-0.
The council also reviewed proposed fence options around an oak tree and asked the parking-lot committee to work on an overall design for the lot and fence. No vote was taken on the fence at this meeting.
Separately, the council discussed revisions to Article XV, Special Use Permits, that would add neighbor input to SUP decisions and would terminate a SUP upon change of property ownership; councilmembers tabled final action on Article XV until the revised language is completed and returned to the council.
