Council approves stormwater grant, removes board member and advances multiple conditional‑use readings

The Maplewood City Council took several formal actions during its February 10 meeting.

Resolution 26-5: The council approved Resolution 26-5 to execute a municipal stormwater grant participation agreement with the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. The director of public works and staff recommended approval; the resolution passed on a roll-call vote with all recorded "yes" votes.

Resolution 26-6: The council approved Resolution 26-6 removing Melanie Brady from the board of adjustment and the housing board of appeals for nonattendance and noncommunication since March 2024. Councilors moved and seconded the motion and the resolution passed on a roll-call vote with recorded 'yes' votes across the dais.

Bill readings advanced: Council conducted the required readings for several bills that would grant conditional-use permits and effect a rezoning. Items read and advanced included grants of conditional-use permits for Vintage Gold 88 (event space at 7170 Manchester Road), All Star Tattoo (tattoo and body-piercing studio at 7326 Manchester Road), and Greenwell Goods (vintage retail at 2719 Sutton Boulevard), and a rezoning bill to change 2643 Roseland Terrace from Community Business to Public Activity at Crossroads Presbyterian Church's request. The council completed first and second readings as part of the normal ordinance-readings process; final votes will occur at subsequent meetings.
