Keith Zygowicz said he has attended township meetings “for 20 years plus” and said he wants to help ensure the board uses town funds wisely and improves public awareness. Zygowicz asked whether the board “stands behind a decision made by a board member.” Jon Eckel replied that the board will “stand behind board member decision within legal limits.”
Terry Palmberg told the board his family has long been in the Milltown area and summarized earlier work on contracts for Hewlett-Packard and service on nonprofit and for‑profit boards. Palmberg said he is currently in advisory roles and expressed concern about whether he has time to serve; he noted the town “may have another candidate that can spend more time on the investigating part of the job.”
Board members outlined routine responsibilities for the role — handling phone calls and complaints, serving on the Board of Review and attending monthly meetings — and reminded members that questions or information should be routed to the Clerk rather than discussed directly among members to comply with open‑meeting rules. Jon Eckel also noted board members are insured under Rural Insurance.
The minutes record additional discussion about subdivision questions, increased public requests for information via text and email, and whether board members assist with storm damage cleanup; Eckel said assistance with storm issues is informal and provided as a courtesy to residents.
