Milltown board hears permit requirements, phases Antler Lake landing work

Doug Bergstrom reported to the Town of Milltown board on June 12 that county officials require a grading permit and two variances for work at Antler Lake, including one variance for impervious surface exceeding the allowable limit and another for a lake-view opening. Bergstrom said the county limits shoreline tree removal: within 35 feet of the lakeshore property owners may clear only a 30-foot viewing corridor rather than removing all trees.
Bergstrom told the board the permit application fee is $800. He suggested proceeding with the original site plans for phase one and deferring construction of an ADA parking area to phase two. Bergstrom said contractors estimated about a week for tree removal, grading and installation of concrete cabling, with seeding to follow, and proposed an August 11, 2025, start date for on-site work.
Board member Jon Eckel recommended that the Lake Association pay for the ADA parking proposed for phase two. The minutes record discussion of the permit requirements, phasing and timeline but do not record a formal vote or other binding action on the Antler Lake item at this meeting.
