Millston board approves routine financial motions, names election inspectors and notes $75,000 road grant

At its Dec. 17 meeting the Town of Millston Board approved routine minutes and financial motions, appointed election inspectors for Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2027, approved an operator license application, appointed a temporary treasurer and recorded a $75,000 Town Road Improvement award from Jackson County.
The Town of Millston Board met Dec. 17, 2025, at the community center and approved a series of routine motions, including minutes, financial vouchers and personnel-related items.
Supervisor George Riedel moved to approve the Nov. 19 minutes; Supervisor Jamie Goodbear seconded and the motion carried. The board accepted the clerk’s report, recording vouchers and checks numbered 18499 through 18518 plus 16 electronic funds transfers totaling $67,976.31; check number 18489 was voided.
Treasurer Sue Marcou reported a checking account balance of $358,793.05 as of Nov. 30, 2025. The board moved to appoint Clerk Dawn Wojtyla as temporary treasurer for the board; the motion was made by Supervisor George Riedel, seconded by Supervisor Jamie Goodbear, and carried. The treasurer’s report was then accepted by motion.
An operator/liquor license application for Sara Cronick, on behalf of Genes Trails End, was presented and approved after a motion by Supervisor George Riedel and a second from Supervisor Jamie Goodbear.
The board approved a $125 reimbursement check for the 400 Club to cover refreshments for volunteers who decorated the community center for the town Christmas party. The board also approved the purchase of four $75 gift cards from Millston Kwik Stop for town employees; that motion was moved by George Riedel and seconded by Dan. All motions recorded in the minutes are noted as carried; the minutes do not list roll-call vote tallies.
For election administration, the board nominated and appointed the following election inspectors for the two-year term Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2027: Lynn Stratton (chief inspector), Christine Moore (inspector), Penny Zoephel (alternate) and Norm Faeth (inspector). The minutes say appointees will be provided the official oath to return to the clerk.
Chairman Mike Yahn reviewed a roads report prepared by David. The minutes state the Town of Millston was awarded $75,000 in Town Road Improvement (TRI) funds for 2026 by Jackson County.
The meeting adjourned at 6:58 p.m.; the next board meeting is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
