In his superintendent’s report, Dr. McGarry reviewed a district redistricting plan for the coming school year. He told the board, "Charles Kelley Elementary School will close," and said those students would be reassigned to Stonehurst Hills and Highland Park; some Highland Park students will move to Hillcrest Elementary. McGarry described feeder-pattern changes affecting several elementary and middle schools and said there will be no grandfathering of students in the affected zones.
On the budget timeline, McGarry said the district is in budget season and outlined key dates: administration proposed the 2026–27 general fund budget to the finance committee, the district intends to advertise the budget intent around June 6, to present another update on June 16 and to adopt a final budget by June 30. He said the district plans its budgeting assumptions in part around Governor Shapiro's proposed budget.
Separately, board members noted the Delaware County Intermediate Unit had been approved for a temporary extension of Head Start funding for roughly six to 12 months by the Department of Education; the update was presented as informational.
