The Committee of the Whole on May 6 recommended the village board award the Fire Station No. 1 roof replacement contract to Pioneer Roofing after reviewing bids that came in within the project’s budget.
“Bids themselves came in at $506,206,” Trustee Eric Bridal said, and staff described a project budget estimate of $520,000 to allow for unknown replacements that can only be identified once the old roof is removed. Public works staff cautioned that some additional costs could arise for insulation and board replacement once the roof is opened up.
Trustee Bridal amended the motion to include the contractor’s name and the committee approved the recommendation by voice vote.
On pavement maintenance, the committee awarded the 2026 street crack‑sealing project to Thunder Road, the low bidder at $82,785, a figure that came in under the allocated program budget for the year.
No further action was taken at the committee level; both recommendations will be forwarded to the village board for final authorization where applicable.
