New Auburn School Board approves finances, hires night custodian and grants early graduation

The New Auburn School Board on Dec. 16, 2024, approved routine financial items, personnel changes and an early graduation during its regular monthly meeting at the high school library.
In open session President Louise Cody led a roll call showing five members present. The board approved the meeting agenda (motion: Tim Trowbridge; second: Shannon Berg) and the November 2024 minutes (motion: Shannon Berg; second: Michelle Rayburn). The board approved the record of receipts totaling $125,534.33 (motion: Michelle Rayburn; second: Louise Cody) and the bills totaling $257,171.93 (motion: Shannon Berg; second: Nick Jones). All votes in open session were recorded as 5–0.
Under new business the board accepted the retirement of paraprofessional Pete Adams, effective Jan. 31 (motion: Louise Cody; second: Shannon Berg). The board approved the 2024 School Safety Drill Report, including fire and safety drill logs (motion: Louise Cody; second: Tim Trowbridge), and approved the district library plan and the pupil non-discrimination report (motions carried 5–0).
The board approved the hiring of Daniel Kottke as a full-time night custodian (motion: Louise Cody; second: Shannon Berg) and approved an early graduation for Gracie Lee Wilson under special circumstances (motion: Louise Cody; second: Michelle Rayburn). The meeting minutes record each of these motions as carrying 5–0.
The board convened to a closed session under Wis. Stat. § 19.85(1)(c) for a superintendent/HS principal evaluation and later reconvened to open session with no action taken on closed-session items. The board set its next regular meeting for Jan. 13, 2025, and scheduled a referendum board work session in early January.
