New Holstein committee reviews energy costs and forwards curriculum agreements and facility quotes to full board

The School District of New Holstein Finance and Buildings & Grounds Committee met March 11, 2026, and reviewed district financial statements, energy expenditures and several vendor quotes before moving 2026–2027 curriculum agreements on to the full board for consideration.
Brian Grenzer, chairperson of the committee, opened the meeting at 1:00 p.m. and confirmed board members and administrators in attendance. The meeting record shows it was duly posted on March 9, 2026.
Committee members reviewed the district’s financial statements and posed clarifying questions about expenditures and balances. The committee completed a separate review of gas and electrical expenditures "for accuracy and comparisons," and determined the presented data to be appropriate.
A discussion with Tom Boldt, Energy Services Manager from WPPI Energy, focused on how electrical bills are calculated and on possible ways the district could reduce electrical expenses. The committee recorded that Boldt explained billing calculations and offered energy‑cost mitigation suggestions for the district to consider.
The committee reviewed multiple facility and equipment quotes and recommended that the regular board consider approving them. Those recommendations included a quote from ES Blacktop for paving work, a quote for hallway flooring replacement, a Turf Tank Robot quote for field maintenance, fitness center treadmill equipment, and an Apple iPad quote for the 2026–2027 school year. The minutes state each of those quotes was "recommended for approval at the regular board meeting." None of the recommended approvals were executed at this committee meeting.
The committee reviewed 2026–2027 curriculum agreements, asked clarifying questions, and formally moved the agreements to the upcoming regular board meeting for a vote.
Chair Grenzer adjourned the committee at 3:15 p.m. The committee scheduled its next meeting for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
