At its April 3 meeting the Lamson Farm Commission accepted treasurer reports for January, February and March and approved routine business items including a tenant reimbursement and the March minutes.
Frank Oudheusden provided the treasurer’s reports for the quarter; Tom Wahle moved to accept the reports and the March minutes (with spelling corrections noted), Wayne Sleeper seconded, and the motions passed with unanimous approval recorded in the minutes. Separately, Tom Wahle moved to reimburse a tenant for dryer vent and plumbing repairs; Wayne Sleeper seconded and the payment was approved.
Commissioners also handled event requests and planning. Zoe Fimbel told the Hagerty party they could use the farm Sept. 5 and sent them the required paperwork. A separate request for a small June barn wedding prompted discussion about the barn’s readiness for public events: commissioners cited missing exit signage, lack of ADA compliance, and parking constraints and did not approve a barn wedding at this time, instead offering suggestions for alternate locations on the farm. The commission approved an artist’s request to set up an easel on the property and confirmed Lamson Farm will participate in the Spring Gala parade. An Eagle Scout disk-golf project was also discussed.
On maintenance and restoration, commissioners debated shutter paint and the extent of needed repairs; they considered hiring College Bound Painters (MV students) and consulting Tim Berry, the town’s older-building expert, for scope and interior restoration work. Frank Oudheusden urged creating a triaged, multi-year ‘‘big picture’’ plan for Barn and House projects; Anna Szok and Zoe Fimbel will schedule a walk-through before the next meeting and explore grant options.
The commission reviewed terms for appointed commissioners (staggered expirations through 2028) and listed officer assignments in the minutes. Frank Oudheusden expressed interest in assuming the chair to lead restoration planning but said he would need someone else to take on treasurer duties.
The commission scheduled its next meeting for May 1, 2025; minutes were submitted by Anna Szok.
