North Cape board approves Pioneer Roofing bid to replace old-stage roof

Mr. Kandler and Dr. Lehnen presented two competitive bids for the project, saying the work would include a 60-mil EPM rubber membrane, new metal gutters, added insulation and installation of three roof access ladders. Langer Tar and Gravel proposed a tar-and-gravel option priced at $190,000; Pioneer’s bid was $185,589 and includes a 20-year NDL warranty. According to the presentation, Pioneer was more responsive during the bidding process and offered the newer membrane technology the district prefers. Staff noted that Omnia has approved the cost.
