Glendive police report new patrol car, CIT training and February call volumes

Chief Mills updated the council on equipment, training and staffing. "Our new patrol car will be finished this Friday with the exceptions of graphics," Mills said, adding that officers and dispatchers will attend a locally hosted CIT crisis‑intervention training next week.
Mills confirmed that Officer Mason will attend the police academy in April and that the department continues to monitor staffing and training opportunities. "We've got confirmation that Officer Mason will be going to the academy in April," Mills said.
On workload, Mills said dispatch recorded 719 calls for service in February across all agencies; the Glendive Police Department handled 538 of those calls. Total citations written by the department during February were 54 (does not include arrest warrants).
The council did not take action on the police report beyond receiving the update; Chief Mills' items will continue as internal department business.
