MILO, Iowa — The Milo City Council on June 1 approved a series of routine and event-related measures, including a resolution to close streets for July 4 festivities, endorsement of fundraising by the Milo Farmer’s Market for an inclusive park swing, and renewal of Casey’s tobacco permit.
Mayor pro-tem Jeff Griggs called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the council unanimously approved an amended agenda and a consent agenda that included $80,020.34 in accounts payable for May 5–June 1, 2026 and a range of reconciliation and auxiliary account reports. The consent agenda motion was made by Councilman Amsden and seconded by Councilmember Mason.
On new business, Councilmember Mason moved, and Councilmember Rodgers seconded, approval of Resolution 2026-15 to authorize street closures requested by event organizers and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office for the city’s Fourth of July celebration; the motion passed on a unanimous vote. Rodgers moved, with Amsden seconding, to approve the Milo Farmer’s Market timeline and its fundraising efforts to purchase an inclusive swing for a city park; that motion also passed unanimously.
The council voted to renew Casey’s tobacco permit on a motion by Mason, seconded by Amsden. The minutes record that each of these motions was approved with all council members voting aye.
