Onley approves E-Summons annual fee; council orders temporary vehicle arrangement amid outfitting delays

Chief of Police E.J. Long told the council that in-car computers are expected to arrive on Nov. 6 and in-car cameras are scheduled for installation Nov. 6–7, with Tasley Fire Company providing a bay for installation. He also reported a drop in ticket numbers, diagnostic plans for a speed sign with battery problems, and an email breach that staff are addressing with Cloud Server.
Clerk/Treasurer Jamye Salazar noted that the previously-approved purchase of E-summons software (cost recorded earlier as $21,110) did not include the annual subscription. Council approved payment of the $12,977 annual subscription fee on a motion by Daniel Bloxom, seconded by Rodney Lang.
Councilmembers expressed frustration about delays in outfitting a new patrol car. Brian Corbin moved — and Woody Zember seconded — a motion requiring one officer to leave an outfitted vehicle at the office so Chief Long can drive a ready vehicle while his assigned car is completed. Council also asked staff to request that the vendor (Mr. Nottingham) begin available installation work immediately and to coordinate inspections and installation scheduling.
No votes were recorded against these items; motions passed by roll call with one member absent.
