Onley Council adopts Comprehensive Plan and accepts Planning Commission resignation

The Onley Town Council voted Nov. 4 to adopt the Comprehensive Plan as presented and accepted Planning Commissioner Deborah Bliss' resignation effective Dec. 31, 2024; Councilman Brian Corbin asked the incoming January board to continue reviewing recent edits.
Councilman Brian Corbin moved to adopt the draft Comprehensive Plan "as written" and asked that the newly seated Council and Planning Commission review late edits after January. On a roll-call motion (seconded by Woody Zember) Council approved the Comprehensive Plan.
Town Manager Susan Rillo reported receipt of an email from Planning Commissioner Deborah Bliss announcing her resignation effective Dec. 31, 2024; Council accepted the resignation (motion by Rodney Lang, seconded by Daniel Bloxom). No public testimony was offered on these items.
Council discussion emphasized that the document should remain in draft form until formally adopted and that the watermark would be removed by the document owner (Ms. Bliss) after adoption. The adopted plan will be subject to continued review by the incoming members next year.
