The Pearisburg Town Council voted March 10 to contract with Cook's General Contracting LLC for a redesigned slanted metal stage cover at the Pearisburg Community Center, with a ceiling price of $30,000.
Recreation Director Scottie Potter presented a visual of the proposed design and a contractor quote; councilmembers discussed finishing options and asked staff to request additional pricing for stone or M-Rock around the post bases. Council also heard from Pastor Jay Smith during public comment, who thanked the Town for allowing Hope Church to use the facility and said he hopes rental rates can remain stable amid rising costs.
The contract recommendation came from the Property & Recreation Committee and was approved unanimously by the council.
