Parksley council approves $4,581.52 in remaining ARPA funds for public-works equipment

Councilman Sam Welch seconded the motion, which recorded ayes from Councilmembers Richard Taylor, Sam Welch, Jan Welch, Henry Nicholson and Brad York; Mark Layne was absent. The motion passed.
The purchases were presented as specific, itemized uses for the small remaining ARPA balance rather than for a general fund transfer. The allocation was introduced and moved by Councilman Henry Nicholson and approved without recorded opposition among members present.

Clerk Lauren Lewis recorded roll and the meeting record bears signatures for Mayor Russell and Clerk Lewis with certification dates on Jan. 13, 2025. The council did not record extended debate on the ARPA allocations and took the procurement direction as a single, bundled motion that staff may act on to complete purchases.
