Parksley volunteer fire company to reconnect house siren, asks town to help educate residents

Daryn Fussell, president of the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company, told the council on Aug. 12 that the department will soon reconnect its house siren and that the system will use distinct tones for fire/accident and for severe weather.
Fussell asked the Town of Parksley to assist in educating residents about the tones and their meanings so people will recognize and respond appropriately. He thanked the town for a recent donation and said PVFC plans to use those funds to renovate its banquet room, with renovations slated to begin after Dec. 14, 2024. He also said PVFC is scheduled for its busiest year in history.
