Council extends SERVPRO lease as town completes purchase of 10528 St. Paul Street; Phase II environmental review planned
Summary
Kensington will take possession of 10528 St. Paul Street on Nov. 1 under Ordinance O-01-2024 and unanimously extended SERVPRO’s month-to-month lease to Jan. 31, 2025; a Phase I environmental study found a vent pipe to a possible underground storage container and a Phase II study will follow.
The Kensington Town Council voted Sept. 10 to extend SERVPRO’s month-to-month lease at 10528 St. Paul Street until Jan. 31, 2025, as the company’s new location on Plyers Mill Road will not be ready until January.
The Town previously approved acquisition of the property under Ordinance O-01-2024 and will take possession on Nov. 1, 2024. Town Manager Hoffman said a Phase I environmental study on the property identified a vent pipe that may be connected to an underground storage container; the Town will commission a Phase II environmental study to provide additional details.
Council approved the lease extension unanimously. The extension preserves continuity for the tenant while the Town completes acquisition and environmental due diligence.
