Kensington to expand St. Paul Park playground after CP&P grant

Kensington officials on Sept. 10 announced the town received a Community Parks and Playgrounds (CP&P) grant to expand the playground area at St. Paul Park.
Town Manager Hoffman said the expansion will add ADA-approved equipment and new surfacing between the existing swings and playground area; QR codes will be posted in the park linking to a project sketch and further information. He described two additional phases that would include resurfacing the existing play area and adjusting walking paths to allow for another ADA-compliant piece of equipment.
Work is expected to be completed in the spring. The announcement also noted the Town accepted a $100,000 contribution under a previously approved settlement (Resolution R-20-2023) that the Town had received in accordance with a settlement involving Knowles Manor Senior Housing, LLC and Neighbors for an Improved Kensington.
