Board approves minutes, personnel actions and finance package including solar lease at Wilbur Cross

At its July 13 meeting the New Haven Board of Education voted to approve routine meeting minutes, accepted the superintendent's personnel report, and approved a multi-item finance package that included a memorandum of understanding for city legal support and a solar lease agreement for canopies at Wilbur Cross High School.

Superintendent Doctor Negron highlighted retirees in the personnel report: Julie Bacher Patcher, a physical education teacher who retired after 25 years; Jane Roth, a special education teacher who retired after 26 years; and Francisca Perez, a school security officer who retired after 26 years. The board then approved the personnel actions as part of the motion on the consent/action items.

Board member Wilcox summarized the finance items and moved approval of the agenda items covering agreements, contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and the solar lease. He noted that the solar-canopy contract had raised questions about scope and limiting work to parking-lot areas rather than an entire campus and said attorney Barrera should review the contract language before final implementation.
